GPT isn’t just about TEGs and the products we make (which we are very proud of) but also the work environment. First it’s a global company that opens the doors of opportunity beyond most businesses but also has a fun cooperative base. The work environment is based on people who have a passion for what they do in every department, and positive collaboration between departments. It’s not typical. Our customers bring unique site issues and the process to solve them begins when the sales representative presents them to our engineering team. Sometimes it’s just a minor tweak to something we have done in the past but sometimes it’s a challenging ground up design that is needed. The company is based on over 40 years of experience (we have long time employees!) and evolving technologies. The designs are manufactured by well-trained teams who repeatedly showcase their talents for building, welding, testing and modifying designs in collaboration with the engineering team. Once final testing and approvals are in place, our shipping and customer support team takes on the project. GPT has been awarded the Canadian export award 3 times so we know how to get things to where they need to be thanks to our shipping and logistics department. Our customer service team has travelled into some of the most remote sites around the world, installing the new equipment or supporting past installations. They have some great stories! It’s not all work though – it spills into our play time. Monthly “Cake Day” to celebrate that months birthdays, Hawaii afternoons to celebrate summer, golf tournaments, curling bonspiels, yoga classes, walking groups, weekly guitar jam sessions, soccer, BBQ’s are all just a part of our culture. We love hearing from our customers like one recently that had a TEG quietly running on their site for 30 years and just contacted us to ask if they could by a replacement. We know they typically have a 20 year life, but it makes us feel good about what we do, when these repeat customers contact us and tell us about their experience with something we built. We love what we do, who we work and play with, which includes both our customers and our co-workers.
