Zilift Limited was established in May 2009 to develop and market innovative next-generation artificial lift technologies for the upstream oil and gas industry.
Its core technology is in the permanent magnet motor space for which it has a large patent portfolio and considerable know-how backed by a Technical Board comprising leading figures from the electrical submersible pump (ESP) industry.
This wealth of knowledge is being applied to downhole pumping products used to increase production from oil and gas wells.
The use of permanent magnet motors enables considerably smaller products to be produced which can be employed in smaller diameter wells for which no pumping solution currently exists. This is particularly the case for deeper, deviated and horizontal wells.
The company’s products can be deployed on jointed tubing or in through-tubing configurations including CT or wireline cable. This client select option allows Operators the freedom to choose the lowest life-cycle approach based on local conditions. This approach represents the corner stone of Zilift’s value proposition.
Zilift's TorqueDrive product (an ES-PCP) has completed prototype testing and entered field trials with a major integrated oil company. The company's SpeedDrive ESP is undergoing prototype testing with field trials planned for later this year.
In 2013, Zilift Inc. was formed in Bakersfield, California to provide installation and service support. Final preparation and integration of TorqueDrive systems are completed within this facility prior to installation in client wells.
