Since its foundation in 1990, Zentrum Gesundheit has grown to become the leading ophthalmologic specialist group in northern Germany. Zentrum Gesundheit treats patients through 12 subsidiaries at nine different locations, making it the largest group of ophthalmic surgery and diagnostic centres in Lower Saxony and Bremen. The group employs more than 230 people, the majority being medical practitioners or specialist medical assistants. This enables Zentrum Gesundheit to offer the entire ophthalmologic spectrum under one roof with a medical focus on the treatment of cataracts and diabetic retinopathy and age-related retinal diseases. Zentrum Gesundheit operates within a stable and non-cyclical market, that benefits from multiple growth drivers such as increasing market consolidation, an aging population as well as a continuing shift from stationary to outpatient care. NORD Holding acquired the majority of Zentrum Gesundheit in the course of a secondary transaction. With NORD Holding as majority stakeholder, Zentrum Gesundheit now intends to continue the successful buy-and-build strategy and offer upcoming ophthalmologists maximum attractiveness as an employer.
