Yellow Pallet is developing and selling technology to construct factories producing transport pallets, pallet parts from fiber derived from banana pseudo stems. This supports the competitiveness of the banana sector and contributes to sustainability of the entire chain bringing bananas, melons and pine apples to the rest of the world. This has the following benefits: 1. More cost-effective packaging and transport solutions 2. Reduction of carbon emissions 3. Creation of employment in factories and surrounding plantations for producing pallets and related products 4. Utilizing waste the agri-fiber of the banana plant 5. Saves the forests, less usage of wood 6. Development of new agri-technology and agronomy useful for other products in the future The pseudostem of a banana plant will decay after the fruit has been harvested but the plant itself is perennial by nature. With a cycle of 9 months to grow the fruit, the 3-6 meter high pseudostem is a valuable non-seasonal source of fiber. Each plant has three or more pseudostems and the average weight in kg of fiber per hectare is extremely high. In Costa Rica Yellow Pallet has developed a plantation of 15ha dedicated to grow stems and is in the process of confirming that a banana plantation can deliver 4-6 times more dry fiber than a wooden forest. For this reason this Yellow Pallet's technology is globally of importance with over 130 countries in the tropical zone. Yellow Pallet is financed by Green Tech Impact investors.
