For the longest time, I've been fixated with trying to reach my full potential. How would that be best accomplished? Is it simply a matter of hard work? Or is there more to the story? I couldn’t shake it in university or for the past 5 years while I led a service that helped over 30,000 students succeed in their courses.

Bridging the gap between a student’s realized potential and their full potential has the ability to make the world a better place. Nonetheless, this requires challenging the status quo and creating the change we need, change that speaks to all individuals. The “one size fits all” method to learning simply doesn’t work for everyone, and without a more personalized approach to learning, sheer hard work won’t always translate into results.

After countless interviews and focus groups at different universities across Canada, my team and I discovered that in order to create a more effective and efficient way for all students to study, we needed to give them ‘limitless control’ over their learning experience. In order to do this, we would need to build an advanced online platform that offered supplemental pre-recorded and interactive courses that were accessible online, anywhere and, anytime. The courses would need to be carefully crafted covering the exact same topics, presented in the exact same order, and at the exact same difficulty level of the respective courses they were intended to supplement. And, of course, they had to be affordable.

Online interactive education isn’t novel in itself or really all that new but our approach to this specific problem we identified is. Don’t get me wrong, many of the major online education companies are doing truly outstanding work advancing education as a whole but their courses never seem to translate perfectly, or with enough precision to be optimal for specific classes at specific universities.

I'm happy, and a bit surprised, that today we get to unveil an innovative educational platform to students across Canada and the rest of the world. A platform offering full class supplements specific to university. Now a student can supplement their university learning with top-quality instruction, all at their own pace, anytime, anywhere, with online lectures for as little as $3 per hour.

And our mission isn’t just about helping students in our backyard; it’s about helping students all around the world reach their full academic potential. The Wize Pledge was created for this very reason. Our company initiative is to provide one year of access to education for a child in need for every year of courses* taken with Wize. This is all done through an outstanding organization named, “Pratham”.
