Urban Roots hires 30 youth in February to work on our 3 1/2 acre urban farm during our spring and summer program. During the 25 week spring and summer program, youth get essential life and job skills while growing food for the community.
We donate 40% of our produce to local soup kitchens and food pantries and sell the remaining 60% at farmers’ markets and through our CSA. Additionally, we provide our youth with a variety of workshops in order to ensure a well rounded education on food, agrictulture, and serving their community.
