We are developing a new kind of display based on ferrofluids. The latter substance has always fascinated for its unique aesthetic blurring, via its behaviour, the line between science fiction and magic. This dark controllable liquid would in particular make an excellent device to showcase the fluidity of time, a topic that has historically fascinated mankind, recently re-attested by the watchmaking industry. About us The startup began as a side project mid-2020. We are currently incubated at the EPFL startup launchpad, supported by the Watch Academy Foundation and coached by GENiLEM. This project is driven by a team of three micro-engineers, of which one alumni and two master students completing their thesis in April, working respectively on topics related to this project. To carry out this project with the highest chances of success, we need each other’s complementary skills, anchored in our systemic and analytical engineering approach. We started working full time on the prototype about 6 months ago, through our respective master thesis, and won in parallel several competitions such as ‘Innovation by Design Challenge’ and ‘Start Lausanne’.
