Terves, Inc. is a materials science company producing engineered composites used in the oil and gas well completions and defense industries. The Company has proprietary, patented, and proven core technologies that it applies in designing, developing, and manufacturing highly differentiated, high value-added metal, ceramic and composite powders and materials that are engineered to respond to their environment and predefined engineered stimuli. This response can include disintegration for ease of well-bore cleanup, generation of heat, and generation of gas pressure where one of the goals is to reduce water usage in hydraulic fracking operations. Environmental stimuli can be changes in fluid, ph, electrical or thermal stimulation to induce engineered material changes. With our core technologies, the Company is able to nano-engineer (engineer at the atomic level) these specialty materials to control response rates to external stimuli independent of mechanical properties, and cost-effectively produce these materials in bulk quantities. The Company’s name, Terves, means “to engineer” in Hungarian, and the Company is focused on developing and producing engineered, environmentally responsive metals that provide a controlled and planned response to external stimulus. The Company’s micro- and nano-engineered particulate materials enable and/or enhance material performance while reducing processing costs for Terves’ industrial and OEM customers. The Company’s reactive disintegrating materials include fracking, isolation, perforating, flow control, and sealing solutions that are metallic and high strength until a specific stimulus induces reaction and disintegration, eliminating the need for wellbore cleanup. Reactive energetic materials offer high density and strength, but are designed to release thermal, chemical, or pressure energy upon stimulus, and are used in such application as enhanced perforation devices, reactive cases and warheads for defense systems, and for rapid pyrolysis of chemical and biological spills for cleanup response. The Company is a spin-out of Powdermet Inc. focused on the commercialization of reactive metallic materials including exclusive license of the company’s IP portfolio for reactive and magnesium-based composites.
