A common symptom in advanced cancers is the build-up of fluid in the chest, known as a malignant pleural effusion (MPE), which causes distressing shortness of breath and chest pain. Half of patients with metastatic disease will develop MPE.
SymPhysis Medical are developing a catheter-based technology called RelEase that will be a significantly more effective and patient-centric solution for managing MPE in the home compared to current solutions.
