Started by two PhD students, the Strain Genie mission is simple:
Use big data to help people find the right cannabis products.
We saw, first hand, the struggle that people go through when trying to find cannabis that helps them with their medical ailments.
We knew, from experience, that finding a recreational product that lines up with your desires is littered with negative incidents.
When we took some time to do some research on cannabis, two things stood out:
1. Everyone's endocannabinoid system is drastically different.
2. The 1000s of cannabis products out today all have different cannabinoids and terpenes.
That means that one product that helped someone with their arthritis could aggravate it for someone else. This made us realize that a simple trial-and-error approach wouldn't work for people who were serious about incorporating cannabis into their life.
