A tremor is an involuntary shakes in the limbs. About 22 million people worldwide with Parkinson’s Disease and Essential Tremor experience these tremors in a very severe form.
Even though a tremor itself is harmless, it causes serious difficulties with activities in daily life. Up to this day there is no cure and current treatment to suppress tremor is inefficient.
STIL is working on an innovative solution to counteract tremors. When an involuntary movement occurs, an opposite force is applied that suppresses only the tremor. This technology is integrated into an orthosis that stabilizes the arms.
