At Spree Commerce, our mission is to empower the world's sellers.
Spree began in 2008 as an open source e-commerce platform based on the Ruby on Rails framework. Spree technology now powers almost 50,000 stores around the world. Our vibrant, international community has been an important factor in our success. We have received contributions from almost 500 developers worldwide, and we are now one of the top 50 open source projects globally (out of more than 3 million).
The Spree Commerce hub was launched in October 2012. It automates backend logistics for stores. Since its launch it has processed millions of dollars in revenue for storefronts around the world.
