If heavy industry was a country, it would be the largest producer of greenhouse gases on Earth. SolarSteam Inc. is a Calgary based renewable technology company and our vision is to change this by developing the lowest cost, cleanest way of generating process heat. Our solution improves performance, reduces cost and greenhouses gases, while contributing to economic and energy diversity, especially in a post COVID-19 economy.

Producers spend up to $40 B dollars a year on steam and hot water, and industry process heat demands are set to increase. Our solution reduces energy costs by up to 60%, while significantly reducing CO2 emissions. With more energy consumption of heat in the industrial sector than there is electricity consumed globally, the pain that we are addressing is the high-cost and high-emissions associated with process heat.

We are alleviating this pain by understanding emerging market drivers and adapting proven aspects of Solar Heat for Industrial Process (SHIP) technology to develop a novel extreme climates-specific solution that has application across a wide range of markets (petrochemical, oil & gas, pulp & paper, district heating, greenhouses, microbreweries).
