Bobby McCormack's basketball camp is for boys and girls ages 7 through 14 at all ability levels. Each camp day offers a unique opportunity to refine fundamentals and hone skills. No matter what level or age group, fundamentals are the key to the success of any team and player.
During camp, we break the complicated game of basketball into a simple formula which focuses on skills, repetition, practice, and situational game play. Campers learn to play the game at an advanced level.
Our experienced team of camp counselors are players and coaches, who look forward to sharing their ideas and experiences with you. They will map out simple, yet effective, offensive and defensive strategies to make you a better all-around player. Coach McCormack personally works with each campers to pass along the knowledge he has gained over his 25 plus years as a player, coach and fan of the game.
Each year we strive to enhance our camp to help our campers have the time of their lives while learning and growing in the sport of basketball.
Walk-ins welcome availability permitting. Register quickly as camps fill up fast!
The Camp Day
Mornings:
Station work (Drills) geared towards individual play and fun. 3 on 3 situational game play
Lunch Break
Afternoon:
Shooting contests. 5 on 5 situational game play scrimmages.
Practice Drills
Repetition is the common approach used by coaches at all levels. At our camp this comes in the form of practice drills. We believe daily practice over time helps maintain interest while building fundamental skills. The drills used at this level are intended to help young players become better at their individual game, which leads to team success.
Scrimmages
We also devote time to game simulation drills and scrimmages which are closely monitored by our camp counselors. Our camp provides a well balanced mix of practice drills and friendly fun. While our campers will attest to the amount of hard work required, they will also share with you how much fun they had and how many friends they made at camp.
