In 2004 Reporters sans Frontieres brought its operations to the US, incorporating as a 501c3 nonprofit and putting its US office in Washington, DC.

The goals of the DC office are to better engage the American public on issues of press and online freedom at home and abroad. We alert the American public, media and authorities on the situation for reporters and media rights. To us, it is the best way to make sure the free flow of information is guaranteed.
