The Rothko Chapel is a non-denominational chapel in Houston, Texas, founded by John and Dominique de Menil. The interior serves not only as a chapel, but also as a major work of modern art: on its walls are fourteen paintings by Mark Rothko in varying hues of black. The chapel is open to the public and admission is free.
The chapel is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 6pm, including holidays. Tickets are no longer required for entry. Guests are welcome to enter the Chapel and visit our Welcome House during our normal hours of operation.
