Ridango asutati 2009. aasta septembris. Sel ajal oli ettevõtte ärinimeks Ühendatud Piletite AS. Ridango on nn spin-off ettevõte ehk välja kasvanud ettevõte Sertifitseerimisekeskusest (SK). SK on riiklikult akrediteeritud sertifitseerimis- ja ajatempliteenusele ning sellega seotud tarkvara arendusele ja opereerimisele keskendunud ettevõte. SK asutajad ja omanikud on Swedbank, SEB Pank ja AS Eesti Telekom (Telia Sonera Grupp). Sellest tulenevalt on Ridango ajalugu alates 2004. aastast, mil SK alustas ID-kaardil baseeruva süsteemi arendamist ja juurutamist Tallinnas ja Tartus.
