ResearchWe connects the general public to human subjects research studies, such as psychological research, clinical trials, and focus groups. By allowing users a centralized place to search for studies and researchers the ability to post their studies widely and manage and schedule participants, ResearchWe catalyzes discovery by crowdsourcing participants for research
Recruitment for human subjects in research is difficult. 40% of clinical trials fail because they can’t enroll enough participants. College students make up greater than 67% of all research participants in psychology studies and Caucasians disproportionately make up research studies in clinical medicine and public health. Increasingly, researchers and the public are concerned about the consequences of relying on such homogenous subject pools. This is reflected in countless editorials and reports on human subjects research calling for increased transparency, diversity, and standardization in human subjects research recruiting. Researchers still predominantly rely on a patchwork of posters, emails, and classifieds to find human subjects--a very inefficient and slow process. ResearchWe aims to directly address these issues.
There is no one centralized place where potential participants can easily search for accredited research studies and clinical trials online. ResearchWe allows users to securely search for studies by location, study type, compensation, and other relevant features. Researchers can reach wider audiences by advertising studies in an IRB-approved, transparent, and standardized manner, thereby broadening the applicability of research findings. ResearchWe also streamlines the scheduling process. Rather than waiting for participants to respond to poster ads, we allow for direct, real time scheduling. This allows researchers to complete studies faster, saving time, money, and resources while accelerating research completion times. Because studies are organized in a centralized and searchable format, we help connect researchers to the type of participants they need and participants with the studies that they qualify for and fit in their schedules.
