If the app Shazam can identify music, Reminiz can identify faces. Reminiz is a mobile app that uses facial recognition technology to identify celebrities (actors, singers, athletes, TV presenters, etc) when they appear on screen. Simply point your smartphone camera at the screen to capture the celebrity’s face.
Once it recognises the celebrity, Reminiz gives you their biography and filmography (if they are actors) as well as options for video-on-demand, replay, online music, ticketing and the latest news. It also offers product sales and provides access to online services related to the celebrity.
In addition, the start-up’s APIs make it easy to integrate facial recognition with a connected object (smart TV, cable box, tablet or smartphone app).
Reminiz took part in season 2 of Orange Fab France. The start-up also announced an exclusive partnership with Orange in 2016 to integrate its recognition solution into the Orange box.
