Fatboy is a Dutch brand of interior and outdoor design objects, with an iconic design reflecting the brand DNA based on fun & being a bit provocative. Icon products include the original bean bags, the Edison and Transloetje lighting ranges, the headdemock hammocks, the Lamzac inflatable bags and more recently the outdoor furniture and parasols.
Products are mainly sold via third party retailers, online and offline, marketplaces like Amazon as well as Fatboy’s own web shop. Sales worldwide with France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands the main markets. The company has a JV in the USA with a local partner.
Vendis acquired a majority stake alongside founder Alex Bergman, who transitioned to an advisor and board role. Growth is driven by optimizing distribution in existing and new markets, an increased focus on e-commerce and continuous introductions of new products in existing and adjacent categories.
Vendis Capital invested in Fatboy in April 2017 and sold the company in August 2021 to Calligaris.
