Health nuts from the start, we followed our dad’s footsteps in sharing whole food nutrition with the world. Our story goes a little something like this...

It all began with our dad Bud Keith.

Our dad was a little nutty about nutrition and became a pioneer in health food before most folks had ever heard ‘health food.’ His Healthouse Gym & Juice Bar was the first in Mission Beach, CA. and served nutrient-dense juices and snacks to supplement the active beach lifestyle.

Hitting The Road

Mom, Dad and us kids lived and traveled by bus as dad toured the country lecturing about the value of whole food nutrition to anyone who’d listen. Dad was always tinkering with recipes to keep his king-size family well fed while on the go. One day, he mixed organic nut butter and honey with a blend of ground up dried fruits and veggies, took one bite and declared, “It’s Perfect!”—and the Perfect Bar recipe was born.

Selling bars the way other kids sold lemonade, Perfect Bar had a humble, but hardworking beginning. We hand-rolled and pressed every single bar in Mom’s kitchen barely able to keep up with orders from friends and family.

Perfect Bar the Brand is Born

In 2005, Dad became ill, there were 13 of us kids all under the age of 22 and we knew we had to find a way to provide for the family. So the oldest siblings came together to gamble it all knowing we had something special, and turned Dad’s perfect recipe into a business.

Here We Are Today

Perfect Bar - a company founded out of the love of family and whole food nutrition. Our story is long from over. Our dad has since passed, but his spirit is alive not only in our bars, but also in our brand principles: food has to be real, quality (and taste) should never be compromised and family, no matter how extended, always comes first!
