Optics Balzers Jena, formerly mso jena, was founded in 1998 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics Jena. The application and further development of state-of-the-art technologies and the proximity to industrial and research institutions in the Jena Optics Cluster were the key factors for its rapid rise. Optics Balzers Jena focuses on the development and production of high-performance interference filters for a wide range of applications.
