Textile technology company offering a proprietary sustainability solution for circular, non-toxic and biodegradable textiles through a licensing business model.
OUR PARTNERS
Our customers are textile brands and retailers. We help them develop and manufacture fully circular finished products.
THE PROBLEM
The textile industry’s impact on the environment is massive:
- Microplastics
- Water pollution
- Resource use
- Textile garbage
- 5% of global CO2 emissions
OUR SOLUTION: MAKING PRODUCTS CIRCULAR
OceanSafe technology solves the environmental problems of the textile industry. We help our customers develop and manufacture biodegradable and toxin-free products. We follow the Cradle to Cradle product design philosophy.
OCEANSAFE TEXTILE COMPONENT KIT
Brands & retailers develop unique products based on the OceanSafe Textile Component Kit. The Kit allows the substitution of 80% of today’s textile market applications.
Final products based on the Kit - apparel, home or technical textiles - carry the OceanSafe Quality Seal.
OCEANSAFE STANDARDS
- Fully circular. Never any waste.
- Biodegradable
- Toxin-free from raw material to final product
- Cradle to Cradle Certified Gold or higher
- No compromise on quality & comfort
OceanSafe requires and helps customers to establish a product take-back system.
OCEANSAFE CERTIFIED VALUE CHAIN
OceanSafe is not a manufacturer - we provide our clients access to an existing, fully certified textile value chain. All products from the Component Kit are made at certified partner factories.
OCEANSAFE CIRCULAR SYNTHETIC FIBERS
OceanSafe’s core innovation is our development of proprietary biodegradable, toxin-free synthetic fibers and yarns. Our technology is highly industrially scalable.
Our synthetic fibers combine advantages of natural fibers (e.g. cotton) and synthetics (e.g. polyester).
The final objective? To replace cotton and polyester with a fully circular synthetic alternative.
