The Challenge In the last 15 years, the global positioning system has changed the way people travel. However, the real revolution of the industry occurred with the GPS implementation into smartphones. Nowadays, more than 67% of smartphone owners use GPS at least occasionally for outdoor navigation. In contrast to that, indoor is where people really spent their time. The average westerner spends 90% of his life indoors - thereby consuming 80% of the mobile data. In large buildings with complex layouts, visitors often get lost. Consequently, smartphone users desire a GPS-like solution for indoor navigation. Our Motivation Nextome is a software technology company born with global ambition that tackles the challenges of indoor navigation. Since our first steps, we have travelled around the world to benchmark our technology, meet potential customers and participate in international competitions. The innovative SME, founded by passionate computer science students, is based in Puglia, Italy. After years of research and development on the indoor positioning and navigation system, the company won multiple awards and international innovation challenges. Our Technology The patented technology utilizes smartphone sensors and low-signal Bluetooth beacons leveraged by a physical model as well as A.I. algorithms to achieve remarkable results. In a highly competitive market the solution stands out due to a high accuracy (1-2 meter), great value and simple installation approach (no fingerprinting) that makes the system ready to use almost right away. Besides the indoor positioning, navigation and asset tracking system, Nextome provides tools to manage the infrastructure and analyse the data in real-time.
