NAWATechnologies, a French SME, has developed an innovative, economically competitive, reliable and environmentally friendly Ultra-Fast Carbon battery and applied nanotechnology. The objective is to foster innovation in the application of nanotechnology (flexible and integrated storage, thermal interface material, black coating) This solution is excellent and unsurpassed in performance. It can store 100x more electricity at cycle-costs 150x less than classical batteries and reduces fivefold the environmental impact of growing battery waste. Architectured vertically aligned nanotubes is used as a template electrode. It is manufactured in an environment-friendly and low cost process by retrofitting proven equipment used decades by other industries. Battery storage is the key component for the EU to achieve a sustainable, low-carbon energy system. Commercially, storage applications represent an estimated market of 3,5 billion Euros worldwide by 2020 addressing growing market segments of smart cities and smart grids,. NAWATechnologies’ nanomaterials applications are disruptive: straight CO2 reductions, competitive, and technologically excellent. This Technology received in 2015 the “best Innovation” price from EARTO.
