Each year, more than 3.5 million kids begin orthodontic treatment in the United States. For decades, braces have been a rite of passage for American teenagers that involve painful metal brackets, monthly visits to the orthodontist and thousands of dollars. While the invention of clear aligner technology revolutionized the industry it remains under-utilized in the kids market. Two Front was created as the modern solution for orthodontic treatment in pre-teens and teens. Using virtual consultations with trained orthodontists and a tech-enabled platform for check-ins and tracking, Two Front was built to better meet the needs of kids (and their parents) today.
Two Front was started by Harvard-trained orthodontist, Dr. Ingrid Murra. Ingrid started Two Front to empower her orthodontist peers to practice their profession (orthodontists spend 11 years in school and training) and also ensure the best outcomes for patients. We met Ingrid in the summer of 2019 and led her pre-seed round of funding in September 2019. Two Front was the thirteenth investment made by Lakehouse.
