**This Page does not share individual missing persons' case information. This is MPAN's organisational Facebook Page, that showcases our projects, initiatives, events and ideas around how we can make this issue more digestible to the Australian public. Please see more at: www.mpan.com.au ** Missing Persons Advocacy Network (MPAN) was founded in 2013 by Loren O’Keeffe, whose brother Dan went missing in 2011. His disappearance prompted the biggest campaign of its kind, Dan Come Home. Over its 4 years, the search for Dan gained significant traditional media attention and a captive social media audience of over 70,000. Other families in similar situations had made contact, desperate for advice and support, which led Loren to create MPAN. Our foundation project – Missing Persons Guide – is a world-first practical guide of what to do when someone goes missing. The Guide expedites critical processes, minimising time wastage when efficiency matters most: www.missingpersonsguide.com Ambiguous loss is considered the most stressful type of grief, and the aim of this organisation is to alleviate that stress for those experiencing this trauma by offering practical support: communications support, marketing (billboards etc), and empowering campaigns that humanise their missing loved ones and engage the public. Missing persons is a community issue that requires the collaborative efforts of media, all levels of government, the corporate sector, emergency services and the public. MPAN harnesses the people power exemplified by Dan Come Home and provides much-needed support to those left behind.
