Marqt is a Dutch food retail concept that offers sustainable, real food to its customers. Marqt distinguishes itself by sourcing products that are local, minimally processed and produced with respect for people, animals and the environment. Products range from fresh sustainably caught fish presented on crushed ice, locally grown fruits and vegetables, a delicious selection of breads baked daily on the premises, organic meat and dairy products, including organic artisanal farmer cheeses. Founded in 2008 by Quirijn Bolle, Marqt operates, as of July 2016, 15 stores in the Greater Amsterdam area, Rotterdam, Haarlem and Den Haag, ranging in size from 600m2 to 1000m2 and plans to open further stores in The Netherlands. As part of our focus on health and wellness, Verlinvest became a minority investor in Marqt in 2011. Verlinvest disposed of its stake in Marqt in May 2017.
