We collaborate with the Stanford Graduate School of business through the jointly created, funded, and led Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Institute (SLEI). We take the best of the Stanford Graduate School of business and apply it to the large and growing Latino Opportunity across our country. We focus on three broad pillars of Latino entrepreneurship.
1) Foundational research on Latino Entrepreneurship across the country with our Stanford researchers at SLEI. Based on our research we issue an annual State of Latino Entrepreneurship report every January at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
2) A transformational Stanford Business Scaling Program for Latino/Latino business owners. We recruit and accept 2 cohorts of 75 Latino business owners from around the country to participate in a unique program that includes mentorship and a focus on access to capital.
3) We are building an empowering Ecosystem. This is an actively connected network of the hundreds of Latino/a business owners that graduated from our program across the country.
Our research shows that U.S. Latinos are creating companies faster than any other group. In fact, in the last 10 years U.S. Latinos accounted for half of all new companies formed in the country. Latino owned companies (LOC’s) are growing faster and have equal or better credit ratings than comparable companies, yet challenges remain especially as these companies’ scale. However, if/when LOC’s grow to the average size of companies in the U.S., this would add an extra $1.4 Trillion dollars to the U.S. economy. LBAN-SLEI through the three pillars outlined above is focused on understanding and enabling this enormous Latino Opportunity for our country.
