The University of Washington Institute for Protein Design (IPD) was founded in 2012 under the leadership of David Baker. The institute integrates biochemistry, engineering, computer science and medicine, and leverages Seattle's ecosystem and expertise and software and machine learning to solve problems in medicine, materials and energy.
