Skyr has been a dairy provision of Icelanders for more than 1,000 years—dating back to the days of the Vikings—and is considered one of country’s national foods. It is a cultured dairy product, different from yogurt, and is thick, creamy and packed with protein.
Our traditional Icelandic skyr is made with unique Heirloom Skyr Cultures that have been treasured and preserved to make skyr for hundreds of years. These one-of-a-kind cultures are what help give our skyr its distinct flavor and texture. It is not too tart, not too sweet and full of flavor.
