Hydroc Energy Storage AB develops systems for seasonal, or short term, storage of thermal energy. These can be used in district heating systems or to heat or cool buildings and industrial processes. The system uses the natural bedrock as a thermal battery resulting in sustainable and cost efficient heating and cooling solutions.
Impact: Reduce energy waste and reliance of fossil fuels by using free surplus summer heat as a source of heat in winter. Improve district heating performance by using distributed thermal energy stores.
