Hungry Harvest believes in two fundamental, non-negotiable ideas:
1. No one should ever go hungry
2. No food should ever go to waste
Did you know 1 in 5 fruits and veggies go to waste every year?
Why? Because sometimes produce that’s grown is deemed “ugly” or a farmer had too good of a harvest.
At the same time, 1 in 6 Americans go hungry.
The good news is we’re on it. We use one problem to solve the other!
First, we source produce from farms and wholesalers. Then we assemble variety boxes at our warehouse. Finally, we deliver to you on a weekly basis!
For every box we deliver, we distribute produce to people in need.
Let’s fight food waste and hunger together!
As seen on Shark Tank - Hungry Harvest recovers and delivers delicious, customizable boxes of produce, starting at $15/week. Recovered produce is fruits and vegetables that are perfectly good to eat, but would normally get thrown away because of aesthetic imperfections (misshapen or off-color) or logistical problems (when grocery stores over-order produce, they can reject truckloads which would get thrown away).
To date we have recovered 2 million pounds of food, while donating 400 thousand pounds more to local hunger relief programs as part of our mission to end food waste, and eradicate hunger.
