We are chefs who grew up in Italy and met at the Michelin-starred Locanda Locatelli in London. We thought the quality of ice cream in the capital could be better, so we decided to do something about it. In 2015, we spent a summer touring Sicily, Calabria and Basilicata, honing our craft with master gelatieri. Hackney Gelato was born on our return. We started selling homemade gelato at Brick Lane’s Sunday market. Word spread among the chef community and today we supply gelato and sorbetto to the finest restaurants, shops and living rooms in the land.
