Filmzie is a free movie streaming service, built by industry professionals and film enthusiasts for true movie lovers. We believe that movies are for everyone and by democratizing them, all users gain access to high-quality content without the need to pay a premium. Whether it’s an independent production, an Oscar winner, a docu-series or a short film from a lesser-known director, our users have access to them all for free. As an Advertising-based Video On Demand (AVOD) streaming platform, we are replacing the current TV broadcast ad system by serving personalized, data-driven ads to our users as opposed to a blanket ad model. This allows for much higher efficiency of OTT ads in comparison to current broadcasters. Based on this innovative approach, we’re able to cut down the content to ads ratio from roughly 50:50 (e.g. 30 minutes of ads to 30 minutes of content per hour) to only 10 min of highly targeted ads per hour, without compromising ad efficiency. Typically, independent films don’t have the marketing machine to drive a large audience. Especially since premium services tend to restrict content to their platform only, this greatly opposes the democratization of the movie industry. We give the opportunity for newcomers or niche filmmakers that might not be of interest to premium or linear broadcasters, to have their movies reach our large film community and get the viewership they deserve. Unlike paid services, who tend to push their own productions, we treat all content equally and provide recommendations based on viewer preferences. Even niche film lovers can find more of the content they like and generally the movies recommended to our users are curated by their taste, making the overall experience more enjoyable.
