The founder, Kenneth Omoya, was at East Sheen library in London and overheard two ladies speaking. One was organising a birthday party for her daughter, and the other was organising her Christmas work party.

Both were complaining about having to call around and go to different places to organise the events, while at the same time having to search around for Christmas presents for their parents.

He realised at that point that this was a problem that could be solved through the World Wide Web. He immediately went home and searched for domain names until he found www.eventprem.com and purchased it. From that point on, the business was born.

It turns out that Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, grew up in East Sheen and used the same library as a child. The library now has a nice mosaic commemorating his pioneering work.
