Millions of people have unmet essential needs, such as the need for clean water and safe, reliable lighting. Hundreds of essential technologies that meet these needs already exist, such as nonelectric water filters and affordable off-grid solar lanterns. However, these technologies are not reaching the people they were designed to benefit, because distribution channels are so poorly established. As a result, most of these life-improving products are not actually being used and were essentially designed in vain.
Essmart is filling this gap in the global supply chain, by building an essential marketplace for these products in places where people already shop - their local retail shops. We are, in essence, a distribution company that connects a catalogue of life-improving products to local, mom-and-pop retail shops so that local shops can improve their businesses, and households can finally access these essential technologies to improve their lives.
