Complex Surgical Instruments and Implants for the Medical Market
Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, Engineered Medical Systems, LLC (“EMS”) engineers, manufactures and assembles complex, machined metal instruments and implants used primarily in spinal and other orthopedic surgery. Tinicum invested in EMS in January 2019, in part to fund an expansion that doubled the size of the company’s manufacturing facility. EMS’ founders and key managers remain involved in the business as both managers and equity partners. Tinicum supports the company’s investments to expand capacity, enable organic growth and improve operations. EMS opportunistically seeks to acquire manufacturers of medical products.
