
Encha’s Founder, Dr. Li Gong (Stanford, Ph.D., 2001), set out to find USDA-certified organic matcha green tea farms in 2014. When he tasted the most delicate and smooth organic matcha at a farm in Uji, Kyoto, Japan, he had an epiphany.
Many people can enjoy this beautiful organic matcha and benefit from the calm energy and antioxidants it provides. So, he quit his comfortable VP job in Silicon Valley and founded Encha in Nov. 2014.
Our farmer switched to organic matcha farming in 1987 when he felt sick from the chemicals in the pesticide. Thirty years of practice has brought us the best organic matcha!
