Founded by Australian/Kiwi serial entrepreneur Terrie Lloyd in 2011, Japantravel.com is the world's largest inbound travel community for Japan. The site is quickly adding functionality and more data, so that travelers can define the experience they want at the price they want to pay for it, and this will help demystify an otherwise difficult destination. A key point of attraction is the site's unique points incentive system for contributors and also its built in quality control system to ensure that only properly written articles and high-grade photos and videos make it to the database. Another key point is the site's annual internship program, which brings 35-40 young, talented photojournalists in from various countries, to help document and highlight the unique experiences that Japan can offer.
