The De Facto Standard in Fire Sprinkler Corrosion Control
Engineered Corrosion Solutions, LLC pioneered the use of nitrogen to control corrosion in water-based fire sprinkler systems. We are in the risk management business and assist our clients in understanding and managing risk associated with corrosion in fire sprinkler system piping. These risks include life safety risk, structure risk, property risk and business continuity risk. Corrosion in fire sprinkler systems leads to plugging problems, reduced sprinkler performance, water leak damage and reduced service life.
ECS provides products and services to manage corrosion in fire sprinkler systems. Products include nitrogen generators, wet and dry system vents, corrosion monitoring devices, and gas analyzers. Services include analytical testing, corrosion assessment and pipe replacement recommendations, project commissioning, and training.
Engineered Corrosion Solutions, LLC is a company of firsts in the Fire Sprinkler Industry:
· First to identify oxygen corrosion as the primary mechanism for corrosion failures in water based fire sprinkler systems
· First to deploy a nitrogen generator with integral venting of the fire sprinkler piping to remove oxygen from dry pipe fire sprinkler systems for corrosion control – Dry Pipe Nitrogen Inerting (DPNI)
· First to design and deploy the Wet Pipe Nitrogen Inerting (WPNI) process to remove oxygen from wet pipe fire sprinkler systems for corrosion control
· First to identify the acute vulnerability of galvanized steel piping to aggressive attack by oxygen in persistently moist, oxygenated environments in dry pipe fire sprinkler systems
· First to provide a real-time in-situ corrosion monitoring device for fire sprinkler systems
