Our mission is to make investing simple and social Echo originally began with a common desire: Many people want to invest but do not feel comfortable with their knowledge and are skeptical about large banks and funds—they want someone they can trust. Further complicating this is that investing has largely been a private and solitary activity. This led us to build a platform for people, both inexperienced and experienced, to share their investment portfolios and interact in ways that were previously not possible. Here the new investor could find someone they trust (a friend, family member or someone else), and have the ability to copy their portfolio (what we term “echoing”). The more savvy individuals who do get echoed then get paid for managing their own portfolio as they always have.
