DAMAE Medical is a French innovative start-up founded in 2014 by two engineers and a researcher from the French’s National Centre for Scientific Research.  DAMAE Medical develops deepLive™ medical device, the new best-in-class imaging system pairing penetration and cellular resolution in 3D.  deepLive™ integrates LC-OCT (Line-field Confocal Optical Coherence Tomography) technology which provides a unique 3D imaging modality, allowing the user to switch from a histology-like vertical mode to a confocal-like horizontal mode, and to record a 3D stack of tissue volumes in situ.     This innovative optical imaging technology will especially allow dermatologists to evaluate in a precise, efficient and rapid way malignancy of tumors by a simple contact with the surface of the skin. Indeed, the technology developed by DAMAE Medical gives clinicians further information than the usual dermoscopic examination. In cases where the abnormality is a tumor, the dermatologist will quickly determine the treatment to use and then immediately remove it by perfectly respecting the surgical margins. On the contrary, if the tissue is healthy, monitoring will be carried out but no biopsies will take place. deepLive™ is adapted to the imaging of multiple skin conditions, promoting efficient, reassuring and non-invasive patient management.
