A revolutionary new Digital Communications channel for (but not exclusive to) the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the Visually impaired communities, comprising of a network of Smart Beacons and a Lifestyle Community mobile App to make the world a safer place to navigate.
The Smart Beacon network will contribute towards a Smart City Infrastructure and act as a public announcement system for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, transmitting messages directly to a users mobile device WITHOUT the need for connectivity! These messages are to inform the Deaf or Hard of Hearing about something that is happening in their immediate surrounding, ie Travel Disruption, Traffic Alerts, Warning signals, emergencies, hospital and doctors room waiting announcements, restaurant announcements, etc and can be used anywhere in the public domain. The same network of SmartBeacons will also provide the visually impaired with navigational information beyyond the standard GPS, narrowing things down to a closer proximity range.
The Lifestyle and Community App is a social network designed specifically for the community so that they can connect with other members of the community nearest to them, find translaters, post news about events, post reviews about locations providing others with localised information, creating an e-wallet for payment and other private personal details, eg medical conditions and or records, loyalty, payment cards, etc.
The concept came out of almost being separated from a personal Deaf friend of mine in a crowded environment and an in-depth knowledge of emerging proximity mobile marketing technology! As proximity Beacon specialist, I have identified a unique purpose for the Beacons which were originally aimed at the Advertising world to push notifications to a nearby users mobile device.
