In Japan alone, more than 100,000 reconstructive surgeries are performed annually by harvesting healthy parts of patients, such as coronary artery bypass surgery. However, harvesting healthy tissues causes complications such as dysfunction, numbness, and infections. We provide "medical device" derived from biological tissue, which is a unique decellularization technology, and aim to realize transplantation medicine that completes treatment without sacrificing one's own tissue. As a lead pipeline, we have developed an artificial ligament for the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which enables the reconstruction of the ligament without collecting its own tendon.
