Climate Feedback is a part of the Science Feedback association which aims to improve the credibility of online information –in the press and on social networks– that claims to be based on science. Our mission is pedagogical: we strive to explain whether and why information is or is not consistent with the science, helping to increase civic understanding of climate issues and to improve readers’ critical thinking skills so we can all better challenge misinformation.
The Science Feedback association acts in particular by inviting scientists to assess the veracity of influential information. The association aims to structure the scientific community and allow it to have an independent voice.
One of the objectives of Science Feedback is to develop a model in which the verification of viral content is done directly by scientists with relevant expertise. With the support of our donators, we are developing a web platform that allows scientists and editor to collaborate on the identification and collective debunking of viral claims.
