Our genesis dates to 1999 with Claris Lifesciences, a healthcare company specialising in niche & high entry barrier businesses with focus on infusions and specialty injectables. Claris was one of the largest pure-play sterile generic injectable companies in India with approvals from the most stringent regulatory bodies in the world, like US FDA, MHRA (UK), and TGA (Australia), among others. At its peak, the infusions business had more than 50% market share in the IV fluids segment, in the regions and product SKUs where present. In a span of two decades, the company created nearly billion-dollar valuation, established world-class integrated business model, built presence in over 100 countries, had a team of over 4,000, and was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Claris exited healthcare in 2017, after sale of injectables business to Baxter Inc., and the infusions business to Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory, Inc. and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. Besides winning several prestigious industry awards, Claris prides itself on being the recipient of ‘India’s Best Companies to Work For’ award from Great Place to Work, India and The Economic Times, 8 years in a row.
