We believe in the power of nonprofits to spark big change. As the only locally-focused guide to giving and volunteering, our goal is to create visibility for our charities and make a difference close to home. Each year, the Catalogue uses a rigorous vetting process to identify the best community-based charities in Greater Washington. Our network of 400+ charities is made up of organizations that serve the environment, arts, education and human services in DC and nearby Maryland and Virginia. We share these organizations with the community through our website and annual print catalogue. The Catalogue for Philanthropy is the only regional philanthropy initiative of its kind anywhere in the country. Since 2003, we have raised over $40 million for charities in the DC region. We don't charge fees for anything we do, and carry out our vision thanks to the support of generous donors in our community. In addition to the Catalogue's focus on raising the profile of our nonprofit partners and directing philanthropic dollars to them, we also provide a range of capacity building programs for them. Each year, we organize 60+ professional development and collaboration events for our partners, including workshops, collaborative sessions, and other related opportunities that reach over 1,500 participants.
