The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) represents the export-oriented ready-made garment industry which is at the backbone of Bangladesh’s economy as the biggest employment generation and export earning sector. BGMEA is dedicated to promoting and facilitating the apparel industry through policy advocacy to the government, services to its members, ensuring workers’ rights and social compliance at factories.

BGMEA:
Issue Utilization Declaration (UD) and Utilization Permission (UP) as entrusted by the Government.

Promotes safety and sustainability practices among Member Factories.

Runs Skills Development Programs to enhance productivity in the industry

Collaborates with Government, IFC, GIZ, SIDA and other development partners in running different programs to promote better environmental practices in the factories.

Operate free hospitals, health centers and schools for the workers and their children.

Runs a BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology to produce skilled professionals for the apparel industry
