Wikipedia for ethical consumerism
Axiologue is a crowdsourced website/API/app that tracks and ranks the ethical histories of products and companies -- a structured wikipedia for ethical consumption. Our vision is to create a single community-driven, comprehensive source to track the ethics of our purchases, including factors such as sustainability, fair labor practices, political contributions, and more. Users will be able to submit data points gathered from reputable sources, and create customized profiles to generate personalized rankings that reflect what?s ethically important to them. The ultimate goal is to be a one-stop-shop for all ethical consumption, but as a proof-of-concept we are focusing initially on athletic footwear. By putting ethical information in the hands of consumers within what we know to be a consumer-driven marketplace, we believe we are putting power in the hands of those most capable of enacting real change.
